Bright Skies Counseling and Consultation, PLLC
Helping you cope with all of life's stresses to make your skies bright again.

What to Expect

When you call to schedule your intake appointment, we will ask for some information about the issues you are struggling with and talk with you about how we might be able to help.  This is to ensure that our program is the best fit for you and that you are comfortable with the process.  We will then schedule a conventient time to meet with a therapist in person.

At your initial appointment, we will do an assessment of both the current issues you are struggling with and also the history that may be contributing to those issues.  We will work with you to develop a treatment plan and set some goals.
When we are working with adolescents, we typically meet with the parents and the child together at this initial appointment.  We want our minor clients to feel comfortable with the process and it often helps to have parents present for the first session.  This also helps to build trust with the adolescent as they are aware of what is being shared and can add their perspectives to the conversation as well.

After the initial session, we typically see clients on a weekly basis as we get started with therapy.  Meeting weekly helps to build a strong foundation as you work through your issues and gain new skills.  When seeing adolescents, we believe in the importance of family involvement.  We typically will see the adolescent individually for 6-8 sessions and then come back together for a family session.  This helps us to talk about progress, check in to see how things are going at home, and give parents all the information they need to support their child at home.

Our weekly sessions are 45-50 minutes; though the initial session may take longer.  The cost for the initial assessment and intake appointment is $130, and each following session is $110 and we accept cash, checks and credit cards.  You will be responsible for payment following each session.

If we will be billing your insurance, you are responsible for checking your benefits and making sure we are in your network.  Some insurance companies use a third party provider for mental health services, so it is always good to call to confirm your beneifts ahead of time.  If you are using insurance, you will be responsible for any deductible or copay due at the time of service.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.  It is always our priority to provide the best customer care possible.
